Is digital record-keeping mandatory for clinics in India?

Not yet for outpatient clinics — but the mandate is written and waiting. The NMC's 2023 regulations require every doctor to maintain records digitally; they are currently held in abeyance, and when re-notified they come with a hard deadline. Meanwhile, parts of your practice already carry mandatory record duties today: the Schedule H1 register at your pharmacy counter and GST records for billing — Remedz produces both as a by-product of normal work, and every confirmed prescription is frozen with a timestamp, which is exactly the record that protects you medico-legally. Clinics that digitise now do it on their own schedule, not in a compliance rush.

Do patients actually accept prescriptions on WhatsApp?

Yes — and expectations are shifting fast. Government hospitals in Tamil Nadu now deliver prescriptions and lab reports over WhatsApp through the state's own platform, so patients increasingly expect the same from private clinics. Remedz sends a complete, signed prescription PDF carrying your name and registration number — a proper prescription document, delivered where your patient already is.

Do I need ABDM or ABHA to use Remedz?

No. Remedz works fully without ABDM — it's built for the unconnected tier-2/3 long tail. ABHA linkage is an optional, consent-gated upgrade you can add later, per patient.

Is there a free trial? Do I need a card?

Yes — every clinic starts on a 14-day free trial with no card required. Cancel before it ends and you won't be charged.

How does pricing work?

Flat per clinic, per year. Your doctors and a monthly WhatsApp allowance are bundled in — no per-seat fees. Plans scale from a single doctor (Solo) to a multi-speciality polyclinic.

Where is my data stored?

In India (Mumbai region) — both the backend and the database. Every clinic's data is isolated and enforced server-side; one clinic can never see another's.

Can patients get their prescription without installing an app?

Yes. Prescriptions are delivered on WhatsApp, and patients also get an installable web app (PWA) — no app store — for their timeline, vitals charts and past prescriptions.

Do I need my own WhatsApp Business number?

No — messages send from the shared platform number by default. If you'd like patients to see your own number, you can connect your own WhatsApp Business number in Settings (your key is stored encrypted).

Does it handle GST billing and an in-house pharmacy?

Yes. You get statutory GST tax invoices (CGST/SGST vs IGST), and a full pharmacy with batch inventory, FEFO dispensing, low-stock and expiry alerts, and walk-in counter sales.

Does it work for specialty clinics — pediatrics, dental, diabetes?

Yes. Specialty modules add the right intake, charts and reminders — a WHO growth chart and vaccination schedule for pediatrics, marker trends vs targets for chronic-care, and an FDI tooth chart for dentistry.

Can I use it across a multi-doctor clinic or several clinics?

Yes. One login can belong to multiple clinics with a different role in each, and the queue, Now/Next and billing are built for multi-doctor practices.

Is my patient data secure and private?

Every state change is written to an immutable audit trail, confirmed notes are frozen medico-legal snapshots, access is least-privilege by role, and the whole system is DPDP-conscious by design.

Can I get my data out — is it locked in?

You own your data. Prescriptions and invoices are downloadable PDFs, and patient records are exportable — nothing is held hostage.

How do voice notes and AI fit in — will they auto-send anything?

Never. Dictation and AI only draft the note and prescription; you review, edit and confirm before anything reaches the patient. It's a clinical and legal requirement, not just a preference.
